As a biblical Dutch foundation, Woord en Daad, together with local partners and actors from relevant sectors, connects people worldwide. Together with our loyal supporters and experienced partners, we have been working on sustainable change for 47 years.
Since 2009, LWH has nurtured an education ecosystem, connecting green construction, formal education, equitable international volunteerism, and active participation in 21st century problem-solving. Over the last decade, the LWH builders, staff, volunteers, and donors have transformed 550 tons of trash into a fully functioning K-11 school. In 2019, 77 K-6 students, 51 grade 7-11 students, 27 Teachers/Directors, and 9 builders were direct beneficiaries of CETC employment and education.

We have the following programs: Women, Youth and Migration. The work is supported by the Communication Unit and the Administration Department.
Guatemala Youth Initiative (GYI) serves the youth in the marginalized communities that surround the landfill in Guatemala City, offering education and services so that they can achieve their goals. Non-profit association, with more than 20 years of work in Guatemala through the Futuro Vivo project, which seeks to provide tools and opportunities for a better future to families in extreme poverty in zone 16 of Guatemala City and in Samac Cobán, Alta Verapaz. A project strengthened by the spirituality of the Carmelite Sisters of the Teaching Missionaries, which provides quality education, food, health, community development, productive workshops, literacy to the families that are part of the project.
