The EDG Membership Agreement is a document that all Miembros Aliados must agree to upon paying their membership fees. The Agreement outlines the details of the benefits that Miembros Aliados are eligible to, as well as their membership obligations. The Membership Agreement is important in order to ensure that the details of the Miembros Aliado membership are transparent and well communicated, so that all members have the same understanding of their membership terms, EDG member values, and processes around certain member activities.

You can review the EDG Membership Agreement here.

Access to the EDG biannual member meetings and working groups are benefits available to all Miembro Aliados, and are collaborative spaces facilitated by EDG to promote greater discussion, collaboration and action between members.

  • The EDG biannual member meetings are virtual conferences hosted by EDG every 6 months to bring together Miembros Aliados to discuss topics relevant at the national and sector level, and share on current trends, policies and strategies, as relevant. Examples of topics that could be discussed at these meetings include: effects of the new NGO law on organizations, strategies to access greater funding, power dynamics between funders and organizations. At the same time, these meetings are spaces where EDG can solicit the advice and opinions of members with respect to the development and strategy of the EDG network, receive feedback on practices and activities, and in general for Miembros Aliados to act as an informal consultative body to help guide EDG.
  • The EDG working groups are subgroups developed by Miembro Aliados who wish to collaborate and work together around a specific theme or focus area; for example education, disability, funding. These groups are made up of at least 3 members who must agree to the working group terms and conditions outlined in the EDG Membership Agreement. Working groups receive administrative support from EDG but are self-managed and responsible for their own meetings and activities. Working groups develop their own tasks and objectives, and are asked to report back to fellow Miembros Aliados on their progress and challenges at the EDG biannual meetings.

The intention of both the biannual member meetings and working groups is to move towards the creation of a shared voice and platform for the EDG network to influence and share position statements on issues relevant to the sector at the national level.

You can find more information about both the biannual member meetings and working groups in the Membership Agreement here.
