World Renew is an organization that has worked for nearly 60 years to reduce malnutrition, poverty and disease worldwide. The Guatemala program focuses on food security, community health, economic opportunity and disaster response and preparedness, working with local partners through funding and capacity building to make progress in these program areas.
Chajulense Mayan Association (AMACHAJUL) AMACHAJUL is a Guatemalan Mayan Ixil non-profit organization located in Chajul, Guatemala. The Ixil region is a post-conflict community that suffered an ethical cleansing during the 36-year internal armed conflict. Schools were closed for 36 years. Today there is deep poverty and few opportunities for women and girls to break out of the cycle.
Conexión is a local Guatemalan NGO, with a Mesoamerican vision. It is the continuity of ICCO Cooperation in Latin America, gathering all the experience and track record that ICCO has worked in recent years in the region. There is documentation that systematizes and supports this transfer from 2010 to 2020.

The Asociación Nuevo Amanecer de Santiago Atitlán (ANADESA Association) was born as a result of the natural disaster caused by Hurricane Stan in October 2005, which severely hit the communities of Panabaj and Tzanchaj in the municipality of Santiago Atitlán. Like many other Latin American countries that share the Pacific and Caribbean coastline, Guatemala is experiencing a crisis of development and overfishing, exacerbated by the lack of opportunities, income alternatives and the scarcity of scientific knowledge about the true state of the different fishery resource populations, mainly chondrichthyans. Faced with this situation, Mundo Azul Foundation has initiated its efforts to generate scientific information that advances the level of knowledge about sharks, rays and other fisheries.
Our main objective of supporting women who had suffered physical, psychological and economic abuse, we created a self-sustainable program for selling our products made of 100% recycled material; at the same time that we teach women and teenager girls the art of sewing and tailoring we are helping to protect the environment, empowering working women gaining their own income.
Founded in 1992, Local Hope (Xela AID Guatemala) provides low- and no-cost health and mental health care and clean water support; intensive support for education including a Montessori Preschool, Educational Scholarships, a Study Center and Adult Literacy Program, and certified COVID-safe Computer Lab; a Leadership Certificate Program, job skills training; and social services included a Special Needs Program for Children and Youth with Disabilities and a budding program for senior support.
