We are a non-political and non-governmental association whose objective is to provide medical, educational, spiritual, moral and social assistance to any person with limited resources, orphaned or abandoned. We provide medical consultations, perform specialized surgeries and help people find a permanent home in Guatemala. We exceed the expectations of the sick and needy we serve, but also of the volunteers who collaborate with us and the doctors and professionals, benefactors and government who work with us. Our common goal is to develop a sustainable project with transparent management.
In a group or as a solo volunteer or intern, Buena Onda connects you with local, community-driven organizations dedicated to creating a positive impact and responsible development in Guatemala.
Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) uses the power of food to heal communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond. WCK has created a new model for disaster response through its work helping devastated communities recover and establish resilient food systems.
WCK has served more than 40 million meals to people impacted by natural disasters and other crises around the world in countries including The Bahamas, Indonesia, Lebanon, Mozambique, Venezuela, and the United States.
ARCAS is a non-profit Guatemalan NGO formed in 1989 by a group of Guatemalan citizens who became concerned as they saw their precious natural heritage - especially their wildlife - rapidly disappearing before their eyes. It was originally created for a very specific and urgent purpose: to build a rescue center to care for and rehabilitate wild animals that were being confiscated on the black market by the Guatemalan government.
Partner for Surgery serves with the goal of transforming lives through medical care.
