650 million people live in extreme poverty. We cannot solve this challenge alone. We work with incredible partners at different levels to help women lift themselves out of poverty. Our programs aim to reach the most marginalized communities, such as women, indigenous peoples, people with disabilities and internally displaced people. Our participants are the ones with the ideas and determination to end extreme poverty. Our approach allows us to partner with women starting their own microenterprises and improve financial inclusion.
We are a budding community center in the Chaimal Village, San Pedro Carchá, Alta Verapaz. Our small center is constructed with some boards and sheets, with a compacted earth floor, benches made of wood with blocks, a table, and several children, women, and youth from nearby villages who use our space for workshops, storytelling sessions, reading hours, book loans, and some strengthening courses. Our services immediately connect with the communities through programs that promote reading, critical thinking, creativity, and the empowerment of women with cultural relevance.

ROMPIENDO LÍMITES -ASORO- was born from the initiative of people with and without disabilities, who joined forces to work with people with disabilities and their families, working in the department of Chiquimula, specifically in the municipalities of Jocotán, Camotán, Olopa and San Juan Ermita, which belong to the Chortí region and are located within the area recognized as the "Dry Corridor", as well as in Chiquimula, the capital.

We are a center specialized in Tutoring, Therapy for children with Disabilities or Learning Disabilities, Timely Stimulation, School Accompaniment, Teacher Training, Diagnostic Evaluation and Counseling for Parents and Educational Centers in Antigua Guatemala and its surroundings.
We have individualized or group therapies. These include: Language, neuromotor, academic and independence. The therapies can be group or individual depending on the needs of each student and the initial evaluation that we make.
Casa Materna provides critically needed medical services and education to low-income mothers in San Juan La Laguna and its villages. Our goal is for all women in the area to have a safe, affordable, and accessible place to give birth and thereby decrease maternal and fetal mortality in the region.
The Asociación de Estudios y Proyectos de Esfuerzo Popular -EPRODEP- is a Guatemalan non-profit organization founded in 1994 by a group of socially committed people. EPRODEP promotes and vindicates the human rights of children, adolescents, youth and women, facilitates access to formal and non-formal education from an alternative and transformative pedagogical approach based on the principles of Popular Education and Good Living.
Rights Action works in Honduras and Guatemala in support of community-based land, environmental and human rights defenders resisting harms and (often deadly) violence caused by different sectors of the global economy: mining and hydro-electric dams; for-export production of African palm, sugarcane and bananas; tourism and the ‘sweatshop’ garment industry.
Tikal Canal facilitates volunteer led workshops in San Felipe de Jesus, Tzununa La Laguna, and Nebaj, Quiché.
She's the First is a global nonprofit organization that partners with community-based organizations to ensure that girls around the world are educated, respected and heard. Our work is divided into two pillars: we build cohorts of community organizations and provide them with funding, training and flexible resources to support girls’ access to school and after-school mentorship programs, and we engage in girl-led advocacy activities around the world.
Founded in 1992, Local Hope (Xela AID Guatemala) provides low- and no-cost health and mental health care and clean water support; intensive support for education including a Montessori Preschool, Educational Scholarships, a Study Center and Adult Literacy Program, and certified COVID-safe Computer Lab; a Leadership Certificate Program, job skills training; and social services included a Special Needs Program for Children and Youth with Disabilities and a budding program for senior support. These programs serve approximately 5000 people annually.
