Friendship Bridge’s history began with its work in Vietnam providing medical education and shipping medical supplies to impoverished populations in war-ravaged areas. While medical supplies were positively impacting the lives of recipients, Friendship Bridge was looking for a more sustainable solution to poverty reduction — the solution was microcredit. In 1994, we shifted our focus from medical supplies to microcredit and began offering small loans to impoverished women.
We focus on the most vulnerable children by supporting them to break the cycle of poverty and leave this world a little better than we found it. Without being an organization with religious purposes, our work and our actions are inspired by the values of the Gospel and the Mayan culture.
Conexión is a local Guatemalan NGO, with a Mesoamerican vision. It is the continuity of ICCO Cooperation in Latin America, gathering all the experience and track record that ICCO has worked in recent years in the region. There is documentation that systematizes and supports this transfer from 2010 to 2020.
Conexión's work focuses on rural and indigenous youth and women, economic empowerment and inclusive economic development, sustainable agroforestry systems, climate change adaptation processes and contributing to the fight against gender violence.
Chajulense Mayan Association (AMACHAJUL) AMACHAJUL is a Guatemalan Mayan Ixil non-profit organization located in Chajul, Guatemala. The Ixil region is a post-conflict community that suffered an ethical cleansing during the 36-year internal armed conflict. Schools were closed for 36 years. Today there is deep poverty and few opportunities for women and girls to break out of the cycle.

Pastoral Social Caritas de los Altos, is an entity of the Archdiocese of Los Altos, which began its social and humanitarian function 47 years ago, has sought the development of the promotion and dignification of the person, the family and the community by implementing its actions in the areas of land, health, women, humanitarian aid, organization, development and capacity building, education, etc..
We are a small grassroots NGO that focuses on solving the environmental and social problems of the indigenous villages around Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. Our organization is made up of 80% young indigenous leaders that lead our programming and have an intimate connection with the communities we serve.
The Coffee Trust was established in 2008 by Bill Fishbein. With 20 years of non-profit experience in international development with coffee-growing communities all around Central America, Bill wanted to take what he had learned and apply it to a single community. We are a non-profit Guatemalan civil organization, created on March 1, 2010 in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala, with the purpose of promoting integral community development in rural areas of the country. We have a 100% local work team, dynamic, strengthened and committed to the scope of the development indicators established by the association; with intervention in the municipalities of the departments of Alta Verapaz, Baja Verapaz and Quiche.
The Qachuu Aloom Association began its work in 2003 in the communities of Baja Verapaz, currently we have more than 500 families from 31 communities in the municipalities of Rabinal, San Miguel Chicaj and Cubulco in the department of Baja Verapaz. Qachuu Aloom is a predominantly "feminine" Maya Achi' organization.
Like many other Latin American countries that share the Pacific and Caribbean coastline, Guatemala is experiencing a crisis of development and overfishing, exacerbated by the lack of opportunities, income alternatives and the scarcity of scientific knowledge about the true state of the different fishery resource populations, mainly chondrichthyans. Faced with this situation, Mundo Azul Foundation has initiated its efforts to generate scientific information that advances the level of knowledge about sharks, rays and other fisheries.
