The Puerta Abierta is a vibrant learning center for students of all ages with a focus on meaningful education and literacy outreach in Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala. We offer creative teaching practices that awaken a love for learning and exploration in our students and teachers.
The Asociación Nuevo Amanecer de Santiago Atitlán (ANADESA Association) was born as a result of the natural disaster caused by Hurricane Stan in October 2005, which severely hit the communities of Panabaj and Tzanchaj in the municipality of Santiago Atitlán. Currently the Association works in the development and service of rural communities in the municipality of Santiago Atitlán.
Since 1996, Cooperative for Education has been committed to breaking the cycle of poverty in Guatemala through education. 1bot is a social enterprise focused on providing a STEM based curriculum to both public and private schools in Guatemala. In the past 5 years we have implemented this curriculum in approximately 60 schools, serving around 20,000 students. Roughly half of these schools are public schools in rural areas of the country. The curriculum was developed in conjunction with Universidad Del Valle and meets the requirements of the Base National Curriculum and the Ministry of Education.

We design and develop environmental and social sustainability and regeneration curricula for use in pre-K-12 schools and community organizations to promote and expand educational practices and pedagogies related to environmental and social regeneration and wellbeing.
We are a civil organization of indigenous women of the Mayan culture, we support and work in solidarity with rural development, promoting the empowerment and autonomy of women in the various areas of their daily lives.
