Mission, vision & values
Our mission is to implement innovative and effective actions to help transform realities that affect children, adolescents and youth in Guatemala. Our preferred option is children, adolescents and youth who are excluded and most at risk.
We want to be an institution with consolidated direct care alternatives. We want to be an organization that is making significant contributions in the knowledge and care of children. With research on the realities of childhood that help to implement more assertive actions to transform them.
An organization consolidated with other activists, professionals and volunteers. In 5 years we want to be recognized not only as activists but also as a reference organization and positioned for children, adolescents and youth excluded and at risk.

Improve the protection of children and adolescents in the family, school and community environments against physical, emotional, sexual and peer violence.

We have conducted several studies in different contexts with a methodology of situational analysis of children's rights. We have elaborated several baselines.
Impact, adaptations & objectives
Throughout 13 years COINCIDIR has served and empowered 20,000 girls in 60 rural and urban communities. It has promoted, formed and strengthened an organization of girls with representation from all communities who are a reference of political and public participation of girls for the defense and enforceability of their rights.
We measure impact by:
- Comparing with baselines.
- With an institutional monitoring system and plan.
- With mid-term and final evaluations.
- With systematization of experiences.
- With life stories.
Size and structure
COINCIDIR started with two people working pro bono. Now we are 30 people.
With the passage of time and strategic reflection, coincidir has been validating and enriching its methodology. For several years it has been offering daily attention centers for abused children.
COINCIDIR used to depend entirely on international cooperation. For some time now, it has been looking for other ways to finance part of its work through the sale of services and other initiatives such as concerts, bingos, bazaars, among others.
Complete the training room in the east of the country to train girls and raise funds for services.
Build a second level in the training center in the west of the country to offer courses in economic autonomy for adolescent girls and young women.
Strengthen our monitoring plan and make it digital.
Strengthen the political and public participation of girls.
To have its own centers, offering various training and education alternatives for girls and adolescents/young women with a view to economic autonomy. To offer fundraising services.
To be less dependent on international cooperation.
Deliver match to the girls trained by the organization.
Consolidate our work model.
