The Research Foundation for the Innovation of Eco-Education researches, promotes and transforms education for ecological regeneration in Guatemala and Central America. We design and develop environmental and social sustainability and regeneration curricula for use in pre-K-12 schools and community organizations to promote and expand educational practices and pedagogies related to environmental and social regeneration and wellbeing.
Semilla Nueva fights malnutrition with better corn. We produce and sell high-yielding, climate resilient, biofortified corn to farmers at an affordable cost. Our corn improves farmers’ incomes and the nutrition of their families and corn consumers. The seed contains higher zinc, iron, and protein quality compared to traditional corn and closes dietary gaps for women and children who consume the corn.
FUNDAECO is a Guatemalan organization established in 1990 and dedicated to nature conservation and the promotion of sustainable community development. In a context of high vulnerability to climate change, we seek to protect natural ecosystems and the environmental services they provide, as well as to promote the sustainable development of poor and vulnerable communities in regions of high biodiversity.
