MAIA is redefining the word "school" in rural Guatemala. The organizational model of Colegio Impacto de MAIA obtains the best international educational practices, methodologies, structures and resources from high impact organizations and then contextualizes them. Our teaching model is influenced by educational organizations in the United States that are making significant changes with traditionally underserved populations. These teachings are contextualized and strengthened with the cultural identity of the Young Pioneers, allowing them to develop 21st century skills.
ConnectED is a nonprofit organization working to improve access, quality, and relevance of education for youth in Central America. Through the Fellows Program, ConnectED harnesses the energy and commitment of local education leaders by nurturing, building, and mobilizing their skills and strengths to design projects that address educational barriers for youth in their communities.

Today there is deep poverty and few opportunities for women and girls to break out of the cycle.

CEIPA, the Ecumenical Center for Pastoral Integration, is a non-profit organization founded in 1989 as an extension of the San Marcos Episcopal Church. Initially, it guaranteed education, health and nutrition through programs such as street education and medical care.
