Partner for Surgery serves with the goal to improve health, empower communities, and overcome barriers. We are on the front lines of medical and surgical care in rural Guatemala focusing on bringing quality health care and surgical solutions to where most impoverished Guatemalans live. Our service model allows us to bridge language, distance, and cultural barriers. CEIPA, the Ecumenical Center for Pastoral Integration, is a non-profit organization founded in 1989 as an extension of the San Marcos Episcopal Church. Directed by Reverend Ricardo García, it focuses on improving the conditions of working children and adolescents in Quetzaltenango. Initially, it guaranteed education, health and nutrition through programs such as street education and medical care. Beginning in 1991, it expanded its work with technical training and promotion of rights through media and public activities. Since 1996, it expanded to additional municipalities.
